2023 InterClub Tournament brings Excitement to Roxbourne Park
On a sunny Sunday, the 25th of June, Pinnstars FC hosted their highly anticipated annual InterClub tournament at the beautiful Roxbourne Park.
The event showcased the exceptional talent and passion of young footballers from various age groups. With five teams in the Under 14 and Under 15 categories, along with four teams in the Under 12 age group, the tournament was a resounding success. The day was filled with teamwork, friendly competition, and lovely moments.
The spirit of competition has always been to bring together talented players from all Pinnstars Fage groups to a friendly competition as we draw the season to a close. The young athletes displayed remarkable skills, determination, and teamwork throughout the day. The matches were closely contested, showcasing the depth of talent within the youth football community.
Five teams across the Under 14 and Under 15 age groups formed a group with 1st and 2nd playing for the cup and 3rd and 4th playing for the shield. Each game was very close and with the players demonstrating their technical, tactical and physcial ability in the searing heat.
The Under 12 age group participants were not to be outdone, demonstrating immense potential and enthusiasm. They showcased impressive technical abilities and tactical awareness. Their fearless approach to the game and the joy they found in playing football were evident in every match. The Interclub tournament served as a platform to nurture these young talents and provide them with valuable exposure.
The tournament not only brought together players from different teams but also fostered connections within the club. Coaches, parents, and volunteers worked together tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the event. The collective effort and dedication displayed by everyone involved was heartwarming and showcased the unity within Pinnstars FC. We must give special thanks to Mark Davitt for organising the tournament format and Andy Statham who was up and 6am the day before cutting the grass.
We also congratuale all of the winning teams for their achievement and all players for their committment on the day.
As the Interclub tournament concluded successfully, we now look forward to the club awards night from 7pm on Friday 30th June at Harrow St Mary’s Cricket Club, Headstone Lane, HA2 6NF.
